Two-Alarm Fire Engulfs Abandoned Warehouse in East Bakersfield (CA)

Kern County Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at an abandoned warehouse in East Bakersfield Wednesday.

The fire, which began just after noon near East Brage Lane and Mount Vernon Avenue, prompted road closures and disrupted traffic in the area, KBAK reports.

The warehouse, reportedly filled with bales of recycled plastics, comes just months after a similar two-alarm fire occurred at a nearby warehouse lot in November. Firefighters said the heavy fuel load in the warehouse made the fire difficult to extinguish.
