Two Children Killed in Upper Darby (PA) Fire

Two children were killed and two firefighters were injured in an early morning rowhouse fire in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania, reports say.

The fire began around 4:03 a.m. on the 300 block of Margate Road, according to 6 ABC News.

Arriving crews found heavy fire on the second floor of the home, the report said. Two children were killed, but the children’s mother managed to leap out of the back window; she has been transported for treatment of her injuries.

Firefighters on scene who were injured in the incident made a “valiant effort” but were unable to save the two children, Upper Darby Fire Chief Derrick Sawyer told NBC 10.
