Two Dead After Mulberry (FL) House Fire

Two fire apparatus

Two elderly residents have died after a house fire in the city of Mulberry, Florida, according to reports.

Spectrum News 9 reported that Polk County (FL) Fire Rescue crews received a call just after midnight on December 11 about a house fire. Two elderly residents were reportedly trapped in the home.

Fire officials said firefighters went into the home while it was still burning. The front door would not open so crews went in through a window and managed to pull the victims from the fire. The victims had significant injuries and were transported, the report said, but they both succumbed to their injuries.
