A man and woman died and a third person was hospitalized after a fire that tore through a building in East Stroudsburg.
The fire broke out late Wednesday morning at the Wanderin Bar and Grill on South Courtland Street. Flames rapidly engulfed the second floor, destroying multiple apartments, PA Homepage reports.
East Stroudsburg Fire Chief Nate Black reported that crews arrived just before 11:00 a.m. but were unable to enter the building due to the intense flames.
“Strong winds contributed to the fire’s rapid spread, damaging nearby homes and making containment efforts more difficult.
The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
