Two Dead, Four Hurt in NC Multiunit Apartment Fire



According to a report from MYFOX8, two people died, four were injured, and several more were displaced after fire struck eight units at a Winston-Salem, North Carolina, apartment complex early Friday morning.

Multiple agencies arrived at the Bethabara Gardens Apartments on Hickory Knoll Drive at around 12:30 a.m. Firefighters employed a ladder truck to rescue several people in the upper-floor apartments.

The eight apartment units, all on the first and second floors, were destroyed in the incident. Crews continue to remain on scene.

Forsyth EMS officials confirmed that at least two people were dead and another four were hurt, but they are all expected to recover.

An investigation has begun into the cause of the fire.
