According to a report from WAVE3, two people are dead and two others were injured after an early morning house fire hit Louisville, Kentucky’s, Algonquin neighborhood.
Louisville Fire Department (LFD) firefighters responded to the 1800 block of S. 24th Street at 3:04 a.m. on the fire with a report of possible rescues. LFD Spokesman Bobby Cooper said first-arriving units responded within five minutes and found heavy fire coming from the home.
Cooper said one of the occupants escaped on their own and another was brought out by firefighters. During a search of the home, firefighters found two adults; both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two people rescued were hospitalized. There’s no word on their conditions.
It took the LFD 38 minutes to bring the fire under control. Cooper said that the home did not appear to have working smoke detectors.
