According to a report from KCTV, two people were killed in a house fire in Overland Park, Kansas, early Monday morning. A third person was hospitalized.
Overland Park Fire Department (OPFD) crews arrived at 1:30 a.m. for the incident on Westgate Street, south of West 103rd Street. On arrival (OPFD) members discovered an active house fire with reports of victims trapped.
OPFD and Lenexa Fire Department members commenced search-and-rescue operations while conducting extinguishment. Crews found tow people dead inside the home, with a third person being transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. That victim is now in stable condition, according to the OPFD.
Crews contained the fire damage to the home. The cause remains under investigation.
