Two Dead, One Injured in Chicago Fire Near Midway Airport

Two women were killed and a man was seriously injured in a house fire near Midway Airport early Thursday, officials said.

Police and firefighters were called to the 5200 block of West 64th Place in Chrysler Village about 2:10 a.m. for a report of a building on fire, authorities said. Three people had been inside the residence and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

A 60-year-old woman was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital in critical condition and a 41-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, according to a statement from police.

Both women later were pronounced dead, officials said.

A man, 57, also was taken to Holy Cross in serious condition.

Additional information about the fatal fire was not immediately available.
