Two Dead, Two Injured in Fast-Spreading TX Mobile Home Fire

According to a report from ABC13, two people were killed and two more suffered injuries after three trailer homes were destroyed in a massive fire in northeast Harris County, Texas, late Monday night that later caused explosions.

The Sheldon Fire Department (SFD) arrived first on scene in the 8800 block of Furay Avenue near Mesa Drive at 11:47 p.m. Fire officials reported multiple explosions on the property, causing an even faster fire spread.

SFD crews responded by going into a heavy defense mode in attempts to contain the spread. They also used tankers to hit the fire with water. The Westfield and Eastex Fire Departments later responded with mutual aid to assist the SFD.

After the fire was brought under control, fire crews entered one of the trailers, discovering the two dead victims inside. The identities of the two victims have not been released.

Two other people were transported to a local hospital.

Investigators are now looking into the cause of the fire.
