The two bodies were found by emergency responders on the first floor of the building after CFD members had extinguished the flames.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation. The victims’ identities were not immediately released, but neighbors indicated that the woman was believed to be a longtime resident, and the man was her son.

CFD officials will canvas the neighborhood at 10 a.m. to provide smoke alarms and other safety materials for local residents.
