Harrisburg (PA) – Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a first-alarm apartment fire in the 1800 block of Whitehall Street in Harrisburg Thursday evening.
Harrisburg Fire Department Chief Enterline says that all five fire bureau units responded because of the amount of calls received around 6:30 p.m., and the fire was contained just after 7:00 p.m. Officials found fire in a first floor apartment with heavy smoke pushing from the second and third floors.
Crews searched the entire fire building to ensure all occupants had escaped the fire and all were accounted for. The first floor apartment, where the fire started, had significant heat and smoke damage and the contents were a total loss, according to Enterline.
