Two Killed in Fayette County (GA) House Fire

Fire investigators are working to determine what caused a house fire in Fayette County Friday that killed a husband, wife and five dogs, reports wsbtv.com.

Flames broke out at the home on Grant Road in Brooks just before 8 a.m. Firefighters say 75 percent of the home was engulfed in flames by the time they arrived.

By the time firefighters were able to get inside, they found Robert and Tommie Sue Ison dead in their bedroom. Family members said five of their beloved dogs also perished in the fire.

Firefighters said one of the couple’s daughters left the home early Friday morning to take her children to school. When she got back, she found smoke pouring out of the house.
