Two New Orleans firefighters were injured early Tuesday morning when a burning house partially collapsed on top of them, reports The New Orleans Advocate (http://bit.ly/1lBwtG9).
The firefighters were responding to a call of a two-alarm fire at a camel-back home in the around 12:30 a.m., according to the Fire Department.
Two firefighters, who were not identified, were trapped under debris when the back portion of the home collapsed, the NOFD said. They were rescued, treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released a short time later.
Forty-five firefighters battled the fire and had it under control at 1:05 a.m.
The home was unoccupied and the utilities were shut off. No one else was injured. The cause remains under investigation.
