Two young children were found dead in a house fire in the northwest valley early Thursday morning, reports CBS Las Vegas.
The fire near Tropical Parkway and Durango was first reported around 1 a.m. Deputy Chief Jon Klassen of the Clark County Fire Department says the children’s parents first tried to get the little boy and girl out of the bedroom with no success. They then grabbed a water hose outside and began frantically spraying the exterior of the house in an attempt to put out the flames.
Metro police officers initially arrived on scene and ran into the home but the untenable conditions forced them out. Firefighters from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue arrived shortly after and were able to pull the children out through a window. However, the children were pronounced dead on the scene.
