According to a report from KSAT, the San Antonio (TX) Fire Department (SAFD) extinguished a two-alarm fire that left an abandoned warehouse on the city’s northeast side a total loss.
The structure, located in the 4700 block of Rittiman Road, ignited at around 9 p.m. Thursday, resulting in a response of 39 SAFD units.
SAFD officials said the building was formerly home to a motorcycle repair shop, and no one was inside at the time of the incident.
SAFD Chief Charles Hood said the fire call was challenging because of high winds and a lot of materials still inside the building.
Heavy flames and smoke were seen several blocks away as crews worked to extinguish the flames.
After working on the fire for 90 minutes, SAFD crews said they would continue being on scene to extinguish any remaining hotspots.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no injuries have been reported.
