According to a report from ABC13, firefighters from multiple area departments in the Houston, Texas, area responded to separate fires in houses of worship Friday morning.
Helicopter footage showed crews from the Dickinson Fire Department (DFD) contending with heave smoke coming from the roof of the Faith Lutheran Church on 800 FM-517 at around 6:30 a.m. Most of the roof was destroyed, and a lack of wind sent the smoke shooting straight up.
Offering the DFD mutual aid were departments from League City, Sante Fe, and San Leon. Earlier in the morning, Houston Fire Department (HFD) crews were called to the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown, the department said.
The HFD was dispatched to the two-alarm fire at 1115 St. Joseph Parkway at around 4:45 a.m.
Overhead video did not reveal any flames or smoke as crews entered.
Fire crews were seen placing a ladder and hose on the east side of the building.
No firefighters or residents were injured in that church fire.
