TX Man Jumps Through Window to Escape Raging Mobile Home Fire

According to a report from KXAN, a man needed to jump through a bedroom window to escape a fire in his mobile home Tuesday in Maxwell, Texas.

The man reported a fire on his porch to 911. On arrival, MFR crews found the home was fully engulfed and spreading to a nearby field of sunflowers, fire officials said.

Maxwell Fire and Rescue (MFR) Assistant Chief Jonathon Coco said there was no chance of making entry, as the home was too involved on arrival, and crews had to go defensive to protect themselves from the heat. Coco said the home is a total loss.

Two MFR firefighters needed treatment for smoke inhalation on scene, and another was transported to the hospital for a heat-related injury. All three are expected to recover, according to fire officials.
