Unattached Garage Fire Spreads, Engulfs Nearby Home in IA

According to a report from KCCI, heavy fire erupted in an unattached garage and spread to and severely damaged a home in Bondurant, Iowa, on Patterson Street between NE 78th Avenue and Highway 65 early Thursday morning.

Fire crews received the first calls for the incident at about 3:30 a.m. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) as well as several fire departments arrived on scene. Fire officials said two people evacuated to safety with two dogs, but aren’t sure if their cat made it out.

The PCSO expects the garage to be a total loss and most likely the home as well.
