Up to 100 Displaced, Eight Hospitalized After Massive Florence (KY) Apartment Complex Fire



According to a report from WCPO, up to 100 people were displaced and eight more were hospitalized after a massive fire swept through a Florence, Kentucky, apartment complex Wednesday morning.

Florence Fire Department (FFD) crews responded to the Champion Club Apartments on Parkland Place at around 1:45 a.m. On arrival, FFD crews saw flames coming from the roof area.

Several FFD firefighters rescued residents with ladders while others worked to extinguish the flames. The FFD chief said that some residents escaped by jumping from their apartments to the ground below to escape.

The condition of the eight residents transported to the hospital is unknown. FFD officials have said the fire is now under control, but they are still investigating its cause.
