USFA reauthorization bill passes House subcommittee

The House Science Committee has authorized a $28-million annual budget for the U.S. Fire Administration for the next two years. Although the figure is not binding, it “signals the committee`s intent to preserve the programs of the USFA and the National Fire Academy,” according to the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI).

The projected budget represents a slight decrease from the past fiscal budget, which, however, contained appropriations for several million dollars worth of construction projects that have been completed. For more information, contact Bill Webb at the CFSI at (202) 371-1277. n
