VA Firefighter Recruit Dies After Medical Emergency

A recruit firefighter with Chesterfield (VA) Fire and EMS reportedly died after suffering a medical emergency during physical training.

According to a report from Chesterfield County (VA) Fire and EMS, Firefighter Recruit Tyvaughn Eldridge, 26, passed away on July 3, 2021, after suffering a medical emergency during daily physical training on July 1, 2021.

This is a tragic loss of an amazing young man who made the commitment to serve his community. Firefighter Tyvaughn Eldridge will always be Chesterfield Fire and EMS family, the release said.
