One person was killed in a house fire earlier this week after victims were compelled to jump from a house fire in Ashtabula, Ohio, according to reports.
According to a report on starbeacon.com, Ashtabula Fire Captain Stephen Chase said firefighters were told multiple people were trapped inside the house during the fire early Monday. Fire crews arrived to find the two-story home fully involved, with victims located in the snow adjacent to the burning house.
The four victims were transported with a variety of injuries, the report said, including broken bones, cuts, and smoke inhalation. One of the victims, a 73-year-old male, later succumbed to his injuries at a Cleveland-area hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the report said.
