Video: Crews Respond to Ansonia (CT) Fire

Fire photographer and videographer Keith Muratori offered video of firefighters operating at a fire in Connecticut that badly damaged a home.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on December 4, 2023, the Ansonia Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Silver Hill Road and Division Street for a possible structure fire. First companies on scene reported a working house fire in a single-story private residence with heavy smoke showing and fire from the roof of 1 Silver Hill Road.

It was reported that no residents were in the home, but they possibly had pets trapped inside. Firefighters searched for two of the homeowners cats, and members quickly found and removed them from the structure. Lifesaving measures were attempted by both firefighters and EMS personnel on the cats, but it is unknown at the time of this writing if they had survived.

The fire appeared to have traveled across the attic space of the building and caused severe damage to the structure.

Firefighters from Ansonia, Derby, and Seymour operated at the fire who’s cause is under investigation from the city fire marshal.
