Video Shows Moment Los Angeles County Firefighters Rescue Member from YMCA Fire

According to a report from KTLA, Los Angeles County (CA) Fire Department (LACFD) crews discovered a body inside a YMCA gymnastics facility that burned early Thursday morning in a fire where an injured firefighter had to be rescued.

The fire was first reported at about 1:40 a.m.at the YMCA facility in the 4000 block of South Street near Lakewood Boulevard.

LACFD firefighters called for a second-alarm response at 2:11 a.m. The identity of the body had not been released. Firefighters said sprinklers in the building helped suppress the fire, KTLA reports.

Some scary moments came when a firefighter called for help when he was injured and had to be dragged from the building. The firefighter was taken to the hospital and was said to be talking after his injury.
