Ingleside (IL) (WLS) – Three people were killed overnight after a car slammed into a tree and caught fire in far north suburban Ingleside.
Lake County sheriff’s officers shut down West Rollins Road from West Lake Shore Drive to Grove Avenue to investigate the deadly crash.
Three people were killed overnight after a car slammed into a tree and caught fire in far north suburban Ingleside.
Fox Lake firefighters responded to Rollins Road near Lake Shore Drive around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday and found a Kia Optima fully engulfed.
The sheriff’s office said the vehicle was traveling west on Rollins, just east of Lake Shore, when it drove off the north side of the road. It crashed into a tree and burst into flames.
A witness said he called 911 and tried to help the people inside, but he wasn’t able to pull them out.
