Fire photographer Tim Olk shared some photos of firefighters operating in freezing temperatures while trying to quell a fire in Waukegan, Illinois.
The photos show ice coating the building and overhanging power lines, as well as fire apparatus and some firefighters on scene.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the fire left four Waukegan stores and six apartments a total loss, but no residents were injured. Waukegan Fire Marshal Steve Lenzi said one firefighter sustained a slight injury in a fall. Lenzi told reporters that the two-story structure that held both the stores and the apartments was built sometime in the early 1900s and will have to be razed.
Companies from Gurnee, North Chicago, Zion, Grayslake and Great Lakes also assisted at the scene.
Another series of pictures from the scene show members recovering a frozen American flag from the fireground.
