Welcome Home for Florida Firefighters Upon Return from Reality TV Show

Florida Firefighters

On Wednesday, Cape Coral Fire Department Engineers Amanda Brashear and Mark Solich will have their last taste of stardom, at least as it relates to the Swiss Reality TV Show “Job Swap.”  The two firefighters participated in a week-long cultural and job exchange with two Swiss firefighters who are now returning to their firehouse in Winterthur, Switzerland, a city with approximately 110,000 residents.  Anyone interested in hearing about the “Job Swap” experience is welcome to attend.

During their visit to Cape Coral, Swiss firefighters Andreas “Andy” Wegmann and Michael Schorr said they were surprised and impressed by all the friendly attention they received and how welcome they felt in Cape Coral.  The two were particularly impressed with our Independence Day Celebration, which was quite different from the Swiss National Day celebration which is held on August 1.  At noon on Wednesday, Brashear and Solich will tell their side of the story, share photos and showcase the tokens they received while “on duty” in Switzerland.  Chief Donald Cochran, family members and firefighters will be on hand at the welcome home celebration.  The public is also welcome.
