WI Firefighters Discover Body One Day After Building Fire

According to a report from WISN, firefighters with the Milwaukee (WI) Fire Department (MFD) discovered a body in building one day after it responded, extinguished fires, and conducted multiple searches there on Tuesday afternoon.

The MFD were dispatched to a call for smoke emanating from a building near Greenfield Avenue and Layton Boulevard. After extinguishing the flames, crews conducted several searches of every accessible area, including one for cause and origin.

Wednesday afternoon, the MFD returned to the same location after receiving a report of a body found inside the building.

In a news release, the MFD said that its search-and-rescue operations were “nearly impossible” because of the extreme hoarder conditions they found throughout the building.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
