Wichita (KS) Woman Who Set Herself On Fire in Critical Condition

A woman tried to kill herself by setting herself on fire in the parking lot of an east Wichita hardware store, reports wibw.com (http://bit.ly/1dz7Q8x)

It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday outside of the Lowes near Greenwich and Kellogg in East Wichita. Witnesses called 911 to report seeing a woman on fire and crying in the parking lot.

According to police, the 41-year-old Wichita woman had doused herself in lighter fluid, then set herself on fire.

Wichita Fire Investigations Lt. Troy Thissen says witnesses “Made a valliant effort” to put out the flames. According to police, a store customer pushed her into the snow.

EMS transported the woman to Via Christi St. Francis burn unit where she is currently listed in critical condition.
