Wildland Firefighter Killed by Falling Tree at OR Wildfire

The U.S. Fire Administration issued a notification about the death of a wildland firefighter killed by a falling tree while operating at the Big Swamp Wildfire near Oakridge, Oregon.

On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Wildland Firefighter Collin Hagan, 27, of the BLM-Craig Interagency Hotshot Crew was fighting the wildfire when he was struck by a falling tree. Despite efforts from EMS personnel, Wildland Firefighter Hagan passed away from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
