Wisconsin Hotel Fire Sends 20 People to Area Hospitals

Lake Delton, WI – A fire on the second floor of the Grand Marquis Hotel caused heat, smoke, and water damage to the hotel, but the fire was contained to just one room.

One woman broke her leg after jumping form a second-story window, and about 20 people were treated for smoke inhalation.

First arriving officers found the hallways filled with heavy smoke and some guests were trapped in their rooms. Firefighters rescued people from six rooms of the hotel using ground ladders.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
