The Fort Worth Fire Department has reported one person dead in a house fire in the 200 block of McGee Drive, reports wfaa.com (http://bit.ly/1GofLcG)
According to neighbors, the victim was a woman who lived at the home with her elderly father.
Authorities first received a call about the fire just before 10:10 a.m.
“Fire crews arrived minutes later to find heavy smoke coming from the residence,” said Kyle Clay, a spokesman with the Fort Worth Fire Department. “While fighting the fire, the crews discovered the body of a 61-year-old female.”
Clay said a firefighter, 49, suffered minor burns while battling the blaze. He was treated and released at Harris Methodist Hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
