ATF Distributes Safety Videotapes to Houses of Worship

SACRAMENTO, Calif.–The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has mailed about 400 videotapes containing tips on how to protect against arson to churches and synagogues in the Sacramento area. According to a report by Channel KCRA, three synagogue fires were set two years ago in Sacramento. The two individuals who allegedly were responsible are currently in custody.

According to the ATF, 900 churches nationwide have been damaged or destroyed by fire in the past five years; more than 50 of these incidents occurred in California. Anyone interested in viewing the tape should call (415) 744-7001.
