Oak Park (IL) Firefighter Dies After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

A 56-year-old firefighter has died after suffering cardiac arrest following a shift, according to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA).

Oak Park (IL) Firefighter/Paramedic Kenneth K. Harris finished his shift on January 11 at 0730hrs. During this shift, Harris responded to multiple incidents, with the last incident being at 0615hrs.

At approximately 2030hrs that same day, Harris suffered a cardiac arrest while at home and passed away from injuries sustained.

To date, two firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2016.
