WV Fire Captain Dies in Crash en Route to Call

A captain with the Albright (WV) Volunteer Fire Department passed away last week after he was involved in an crash while responding to an emergency call.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, Captain Charles “Chuck” Wesley Miller, Jr. was responding to a brush fire in his personal automobile. He was killed when his vehicle went off the road and into a ditch on North Preston Highway. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Captain Miller was 62 years old.
