33-Man Department Cut to 4 Men
Zanesville, Ohio, a municipality having a population of 45,000, made a sharp reduction in the personnel of the Fire Department. The force of thirty-three men was cut to four men due to the defeat of a four-mill tax which would have raised $109,000. It is said that the city treasury faces a deficit of $129,000 for 1935.
Stanley Flood, of Columbia Hook and Ladder Company, has been elected Chief of the Croton, N. Y., Fire Department, succeeding Douglas Grant.
