A Great Dictionary.
Without doubt the standard dictionary of the English language published by Funk and Wagnalls Company, New York, is all that has been claimed for it. A more attractive or splendidly compiled and printed work it would be difficult to conceive. It is designed to give in complete and accurate statement in the light of the most recent advances in knowledge and in the readiest form for popular use, the meaning, orthography, pronounciation and etymology of all the words and the idiomatic phrases in the speech and literature of the English speaking peoples. It has been prepared by a great number of specialists under the supervision of Isaac K. Funk, I).I)., editor-in-chief, and contains numerous illustrations and full page colored plates. It is a work of great value, far in advance of anything of the kind heretofore issued and will likely soon supercede many of the older works of a similar kind.
