A PROUD FIRE COMPANY.
There is no prouder volunteer fire company to-day than the Pioneer hook and ladder company, of Randolph Mass. The reason for this is its acquisition the past week of one of the most finely furnished hook and ladder trucks that has ever been furnished. The truck was delivered by the Combination Ladder Company of Providenc, R. I. It was built at the works of the Gleason and Hailey Manufacturing Company. Seneca Palis, N. Y., and is a new 1898 model, comprising a style of apparatus, built on lines so graceful and well adjusted, as to serve the double purpose of extreme lightness for handling and a large service in equipment, being arranged to be drawn by either hand or horses.
