AIA Code Use Increases
The Fire Prevention Code of the American Insurance Association was adopted by 79 communities during 1974, it was reported at the annual meeting of the AIA in Chicago last May. During the same year, the AIA National Building Code was adopted by 30 communities.
This brings to 3927 the number of jurisdictions that have adopted some edition of the Fire Prevention Code. The National Building Code has now been adopted by 1885 communities. Both codes will be revised this year, the AIA announced.
