Air Horns Tried on Chief’s Cars

Experimental use of an air horn on a battalion chief’s car to clear traffic is reported by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The horn, of a new type recently developed, was installed on Battalion 1’s sedan.

Chief William Weyant, B shift, and B. D. Robinson, A shift, report that the warning device is helping, so far.

All L. A. County fire apparatus presently is equipped with air horns.
