American Water Works Association Nominations of Officers
Secretary J. M. Diven, of the American Water Works Association, has issued an announcement that the following names are the nominees of the Nominating Committee for the respective offices of the association for 1916-1917: For President, Leonard Metcalf, Consulting Engineer, 14 Beacon St., Boston, Mass.; for Vice-President, Theodore A. Leisen, General Superintendent, Board of Water Commissioners, Detroit, Mich.; for Treasurer, James M. Caird, Chemist and Bacteriologist, 271 River St., Troy, N. Y.; for Trustees, F. W. Cappclen, City Engineer, Minneapolis, Minn.; M. L. Worrell, General Manager Water Works, Meriden, Miss. The announcement also says: The above nominations are made by the committee elected at the last convention, in accordance with the amended constitution. The constitution further provides that “Up to within three months of the time ot holding the next annual convention, additional nominations may be made by request to the secretary, signed by at least twenty-five active, honorary or corporate members, and, upon receipt of such request, the secretary shall add such additional nominees to the final ballot to be prepared by him. The nominees of the Nominating Committee shall head such final ballot for each office, and any additional nominees for the respective offices shall be placed under the nominees of the nominating committee in alphabetical order.” The time for filing such additional nominations closes this year March 6, 1916. All petitions for additional nominations must be in the hands of the secretary on or before that date to secure a place on the official ballot.
