Annual Parade of Wellsville Firemen
The Wellsville, N. Y., volunteer fire department held its annual inspection, parade and banquet on Thursday, August 9. The entire department paraded with its fire apparatus, the companies taking part being the Emerald Hook and Ladder Company, Genesee Hose and Chemical Company, McEwen Hose and Chemical Company, Duke Hose and Chemical Company, and the Dyke Street Hose and Chemical Company. The banquet was held in the Christian Temple dining room and was tinder the auspices of the Cradle Roll department of the Christian Temple, under the direction of Mrs. Leda Garvey. During the serving of the menu the fire department orchestra entertained the guests. Addresses were made by Rev. George T. Lascelle, Messrs. Rock Boyce, E. C. Hornburg. Henry Graham, and Supervisor George B. Elwell. The toastmaster was Chief J. W. Jones, of the fire department. This was the second annual banquet of the Wellsville volunteer fire department.
