Motorola Solutions Assists with Wildfire Relief Efforts in Bastrop County (TX) with Communications Solution Donation

Motorola Solutions will assist the Heart of Pines (TX) Volunteer Fire Department with a donation of 22 APX7000XE radios, accessories and programming. In September of this year, the largest wildfire in Texas history hit Bastrop County and destroyed more than 1,300 homes and the Heart of the Pines Volunteer Firefighter Station. What began as a small wildfire in the area quickly raged out of control fueled by high, shifting winds and record draught conditions to become a wildfire that consumed more than 34,000 acres. Heart of Pines Volunteer Fire Department (HPVFD), along with countless local and national firefighters, fought the flames day and night; many of their own homes were destroyed.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will be building a new home for one deserving HPVFD firefighter, Mizzy Zdroj, and improving the Heart of Pines fire station. Motorola Solutions is dedicated to providing mission-critical communications solutions to public safety professionals. With that, Motorola Solutions will be providing radios designed specifically for firefighters, the APX7000XE. Twenty-two radios and remote speaker microphones in all will be donated helping to ensure the safety of these brave men and women.
