Battery Company Fire Releases Plume of Black Smoke

Little Canada, MN, October 23-On Sunday, investigators were still trying to determine what started a fire at McDonald Battery Company that sent thick black smoke into downtown St. Paul. No one was injured, but authorities evacuated a nearby apartment building as a precaution.

The fire reportedly damaged two storage buildings and at least six semi-trailers containing plastic parts and auto batteries. A motor home parked nearby was also damaged.
