Billion Gallon Reservoir Planned for Barberton
The city of Barberton, Ohio, will vote at the next election on the water question, deciding whether a huge reservoir shall be built that shall provide for the city for many years. The plan involves a reservoir of 1,400,000,000 gallons capacity, with a watershed of 26 miles from which to draw. Wolf Creek, a number of springs and natural drainage will give the supply and a dam from 300 to 400 feet wide will be sufficient. The water will be soft and of good quality and the gravity system will be available to bring it to the city. The project has the approval of W. H. Ditto, chief engineer of the state board of health.
