Blanchard, of Laboratories, Dead
Birdsall E. Blanchard, for many years Assistant Secretary of the Underwriters’ Laboratories, died on August 26, at the age of sixty-six. He had retired from active duty two years ago, because of ill health.
He was an electrical inspector with the Chicago Board of Eire Underwriters and later was on the editorial staff of Popular Electricity, later Popular Science Monthly. He was editor of Laboratories Data until that magazine was discontinued in 1932. Thereafter he had charge of the printing of the lists of inspected appliances issued by the Laboratories.
His widow and one son survive.
