Booklet on Worthington Volute Centrifugal Pumps
The Worthington volute centrifugal pumps are the subject of a bulletin issued by the Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation, 115 Broadway, New York. It is profusely and handsomely illustrated, one full page picture showing the centrifugal pump shop, Henry R. Worthington Hydraulic Works, Harrison, N. J. The booklet says Worthington volute pumps are built in three standard designs; the single side suction type, the double suction solid case type, and the double suction pump with horizontally split casing, and that the classes of service for which the volute centrifugal pump is used are numerous, ranging from the small house tank pump to the large units employed for unwatering dry docks. The following is given as a brief list of the more important uses: Water works service, sewage pumping plants, dry dock pumps (both for grading docks and floating docks), irrigation and drainage service, circulating pumps for surface and barometric condensers, paper mills and sugar factories.
