Boston Buffs Organize
An organization known as the Metropolitan Boston Sparks Association, has been formed to strengthen the ties between the civilians and the fire force. The organization meeting was held at the office of Benjamin Ellis, Beacon Street. Brookline, Mass., following a four-alarm fire.
Practically all the members are equipped with short wave radios in their cars and at their homes so that they can be informed of all major alarms.
President Ellis traveled 260 miles to witness the five-alarm oil fire at Greenpoint, Long Island, and he was also at the scene of the recent Lynn fire.
The association hopes in time to have its own building, in which can he housed a fire museum.
