The fire occurred on October 13, 2015 around 9 a.m. at 160 Alturia Street in Buffalo, New York. It was a 2 1/2-story occupied wood frame. The only person home at the time was upstairs and smelled smoke and self evacuated.

Firefighters used two 1 3/4-inch lines and one 2 1/2-inch line that was reduced to an 1 3/4-inch and 100 feet of ladders. The fire started on the first floor and extended to the second floor and attic.
