California Fire Administration Institute Announced

The University of Southern California and the Southern California Division of the California Fire Chiefs Association have announced the second Fire Administration Institute for fire chiefs.

The institute will be held every Tuesday beginning October 1, 1957, and continuing through January 28, 1958. Only chiefs of fire departments may enroll and six units of college credit are available upon successful completion of the institute course.

The program is designed to assist the chief of a fire department with his current and future management problems. It will cover such subjects as human relations, personnel administration, organization, supervision, public relations, etc.

Director of the institute is Chief C. L. Bolz, retired, Pasadena Fire Department; curriculum coordinator is Desmond L. Anderson, School of Public Administration; and advisor is John Gerletti, School of Public Administration. The institute faculty will include Chief Bolz; John B. Rathmell, former supervisor of distributive education, Pasadena School District; faculty members of the School of Public Administration and specialists in the fire field.
